Salit Lecture Series
Non-Profit Collaboration:
More than ever

Join us for a special event in the Salit Foundation Lecture Series, presented in collaboration with the Burbank Non-Profit Coalition and the Boys & Girls Club of Burbank and Greater East Valley. This installment features Tom Backer’s lecture, Non-Profit Collaboration: More Than Ever, exploring the power and importance of partnership within the arts and nonprofit community.
We encourage arts organizations to stay for the full meeting to gain insight into connecting with non-arts organizations and fostering meaningful cross-sector collaboration.
Dr. Tom Backer has worked with nonprofits and their funders for many years, focused on improving effectiveness through strategic planning and organization development. He holds a PhD in psychology from UCLA, and is Senior Research Fellow at California State University Northridge, where he also has a permanent endowment that funds faculty research on the nonprofit sector. He is an active Board member at the Wende Museum in Culver City, where he also has curated five exhibitions, and has served on the Boards of East West Players and Musical Theatre Guild. As a consultant he has worked extensively with foundation and government funders, as well as with many nonprofits, including several here in Burbank.
