Now in its second year, the Iba-Tenorio Scholarship Competition returns to celebrate and support the next generation of young musicians. Created to honor the legacy of Dr. Iba and Stefano Tenorio, this annual event provides an inspiring platform for young string and piano players to share their talent, pursue their passion, and connect through the universal language of music.

Dr. Iba, a beloved physician, professor, and pianist, spent decades balancing a distinguished medical career with his enduring love for classical music. After a long hiatus, he returned to the piano later in life, studying under acclaimed pianist Rufus Choi and performing in intimate recitals with great joy. It was a shared dream between Dr. Iba and Stefano Tenorio to create opportunities for young musicians to flourish—and this competition is the living expression of that vision.
